Activity 2: You are my Sunshine [4 points]
People in New Zealand love spending time outdoors. Unfortunately, the sun is very powerful and the rates of skin cancer are incredibly high in New Zealand. In fact, they are higher than anywhere else in the entire world! To protect ourselves against skin cancer, we need to be careful about how much time we spend in the sun. We have to be ‘Sunsmart.’
On your blog, list five different things that we can do to protect ourselves from the sun this summer!
1. Sunscreen
2. Hat
3. Sunglasses
4. Shade
5. Water

Hello again Tyra, it's Billy here from the SLJ team. Thanks for sharing five different tips for staying safe in the sun this summer. It's really important to seek shade during the hottest part of the day - which is usually around 11am-2pm.
Number five is extremely important. When you are out and about enjoying the hot weather your body gets dehydrated a lot quicker. So it is really important to keep drinking fluids to stay hydrated.
What outdoor activities have you been enjoying this summer?
Thanks. Billy.
